I am a designer. Just before 2021, I am as normal as one of the designers — eager to learn new design tools, and design thinking and chase careers on my way to a higher professional position. Since remote working because of this global pandemic, I have been super bored and thinking about things. So one day in 2021, I woke up and felt like writing poetics. I started to realize that art and design have never been apart. I never thought I was an artist before. Because I found that UX design is about user needs and value, not art. Something changed my mind, which is the emotional aspect of experience design. When we bring anything design up to an emotional level, true artists must be involved.
"Wish we meet again in March, and the beautiful peach blossoms are still there. I buried those flowers in spring to sacrifice this magnificent scene. I used those dying flowers in my grinding ink to write this long roll of poems for love."
I translated some of my poems into English. I am not a native English speaker. I might be wrong on the grammar, but at the same time, I think it doesn’t matter. Poems are different — it is for capturing the mood.
I live in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, a beautiful country with trees, forests, flowers, rivers, and the North Sea. The land is so flat — it is almost like if you find a higher spot, you can see everything with your eyes. But it is also hard to find a place that is high enough. The Netherlands is full of small buildings with a cute style. It is close to the North sea, so it has a unique style with its weather. Those things together inspired me a lot in my writing.
I wrote a story about a pair of lovers who have been set into a life-and-death loop. They have met 10,000+ times. Each time they fall in love again no matter what. And each time, in the end, they sacrifice and die for each other. The poetics I wrote include Chinese calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting. The elements of Chinese mythology include Taoism, ancient mythical beasts, and the several-thousands-year history of the Hua Xia Culture. I combined those into my stories.
A touching story can change people, in a good way.
神话诗歌，盛世繁华，绝唱风尘，华夏英魂。
Love for good, for real love is to give freedom and hope. Real love is to love like love this world, we care, we contribute, we give… I couldn't say I love you until I can do something for you, or I already did, until it is enough. To all future designers and artists, we will be the dream builders for our future.
